What are Supporting Documents

Safety plans often require supporting documents (or appendices) to be able to give a full account of all the relevant information available. To ensure that a safety plan is concise and easily readable, it is common to summarise information within the safety plan sections and then refer readers to more information contained in the supporting documents.

Examples of supporting documents could be:

• High resolution copies of site plans
• Packs of all the construction drawings and designs
• Structural sign offs and plans
• Detailed schedules for the project
• Proof of insurance documents from the client, production company or suppliers
• Your event licence
• Training records or licences (eg. IPAF for your scissor lift or cherry picker drivers)
• Crowd management or security plans
• Checklist sheets for use on site
• Site induction & register
